Bruce Lee died today – 34 years ago

U.S. martial artist and actor Bruce Lee was born on November 27, 1940 in San Francisco, California. He said, “It's not the daily increase but daily decrease. Hack away at the unessential.” {1} [I assume that the "it" refers to "what brings happiness", so remove all that clutter in your life, unless you really need it.]... Mr. Lee died in 1973 in Hong Kong.

Scottish writer Andrew Lang was born on March 31, 1844 in Selkirk, Selkirkshire, Scotland. He said, “An unsophisticated forecaster uses statistics as a drunken man uses lamp-posts - for support rather than for illumination.” {1} [At least one can’t lie with lamp-posts, can one?]... Mr. Lang died in 1912 in Banchory, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

French poet and essayist Paul Valéry was born on October 30, 1871 in Sète, France. He said, “Politics is the art of preventing people from busying themselves with what is their own business.” {1} [Politicians meddle in everything.] He also said, “Politics is the art of preventing people from sticking their noses in things that are properly their business.” {1} [Politicians meddle in everything... It needed repeating!]... Mr. Valéry died in 1945 in Paris, France.
