Dag Hammarskjöld died today – 46 years ago

Swedish diplomat Dag Hjalmar Agne Carl Hammarskjöld was born on July 29, 1905 in Jönköping, Sweden. He said, “The myths have always condemned those who 'looked back.' Condemned them, whatever the paradise may have been which they were leaving. Hence this shadow over each departure from your decision." [What?]... Mr. Hammarskjöld died in 1961 in Ndola, Northern Rhodesia.

Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler was born on April 15, 1707 in Basel, Switzerland. He said, “Mathematicians have tried in vain to this day to discover some order in the sequence of prime numbers, and we have reason to believe that it is a mystery into which the human mind will never penetrate." [Never say never. You might want to consider the Ulam spiral.]... Mr. Euler died in 1783 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
