Richard Strauss died today – 58 years ago

German composer Richard Strauss was born on June 11, 1864 in Munich, Germany. He said, “Never look at the trombones. You'll only encourage them." [Is that what it is?]... Mr. Strauss died in 1949 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

English bishop and satirist Joseph Hall was born on July 1, 1574 at Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, England. He said, “Our body is a well-set clock, which keeps good time, but if it be too much or indiscreetly tampered with, the alarm runs out before the hour." [And at what minute are you?]... Mr. Hall died in 1656 in Higham, Norfolk, England.
