Tony Harris, Stop Hmmm-ing, Start Humming.

CNN’s Tony Harris needs to stop “hmmm”-ing while another person is talking. It’s VERY annoying. Does he realize that he does it? Does anybody else notice it? Does anybody else even care? Does he or someone think it’s cute or clever? I don’t care! It’s ANNOYING! Stop it! Mute his mike. I don’t want to hear it anymore.

Well, I’ve cleared my psyche on that one. What’s next? Everyone trying to talk over each other in those "Hollywood Square"-style boxes? Yeap! Mute 'em. Problem solved.

Oh my God...I thought I was the only one that noticed. This man thinks he's the *bleep* He is so annoying. I especially hate when he does this jerking motion like he is biting the camera. Get him off the air!!!!

Letter to CNN:

What a grave disservice Tony Harris does to your organization. Having news delivered by an individual who constantly appears to be struggling with his mental faculties – all the blinking and shifting eye movements, the inappropriate and uninformed comments and banter, the outbursts, the unnecessary laughter, the bizarre body language, etc… - puts a real burden on your viewers. That he is on the air at all raises serious questions about CNN’s integrity and its commitment to news. It is offensive that you believe this is what your target audience wants – news delivered by a clown. I’ve lost all confidence in CNN and will exercise my right to tune out.

I am so happy to see that others absolutely hate this Tony Harris clown. It is obvious to me that Harris is trying to be the next sensational news anchor with his own show--like Chris Matthews (who is annoying enough, but at least Matthews is competent). I hate the way Harris always interrupts his guests and the other CNN correspondents with his moronic, melodramatic interjections, such as "ohh, Steve, Steve, Steve" then followed by nothing that could have possible warranted the interruption. Harris is a rude, self-absorbed idiot who thinks that he is more important than the stories being covered. The only reason I watch CNN is because it is the only 24 hour news show on the cheapest satellite package to which I subscribe. If Tony Harris continues to succeed in the news media, I will know that the end times are near. The only thing that rivals Harris' stupidity may be Anderson Cooper stupid fucking floating pie chart--another CNN gem.

I hate tony harris and have stopped watching cnn in the mornings. this is the most irritating anchor i've ever seen. with his attemots to be cute he is worthy of a good smack in the face. and has anyone noticed how heidi collins looks on the days he co-anshors with her?--and how much happier she is when she handles the show by herself?
someone should get this man off the air.
i'm glad to know there are other people who hate this man. his faked sincerity and overly animated demeanor...someone MUST stop him!

Dear sweet baby jesus in a carseat! YES! Tony Harris has just about driven me away from CNN! Has anyone ever noticed how much of an attention monger and ass-kisser he is? For example, he made this morning's broadcast on Martin Luther King more about him than about King. He schmoozed up to King's sister too (the in-studio guest), ending the segment with, "Oh I want you know know how sorry I am we don't have more time, I'd love to just hang out with you..." King's sister just looked uncomfortable, as if she couldn't wait to bolt off the set.

Day after day I watch CNN amazed that Tony Harris has not yet been canned. I'm baffled that CNN continues to put him on the air. Quite often his fellow anchors and correspondents seem mystified and even embarrassed by his antics. The real problem to me isn't that his questions and responses often shows his ignorance of the issues at hand (he's hardly the only news anchor or reporter guilty of this) but in my view he appears to think that he is the story. How many times does he say how much he wants to hear more when the reporter gets back to the studio - not for the air but for his own enlightenment. Or how about his "Help me understand..." I'm afraid Tony that might take a long while and require some remedial work on your part. His stumbling, bumbling interviews are unwatchable. I totally see him as a local news anchor - an appropriate place for his banal happy talk. However, for all its detractors, CNN is in fact the premier television news organization in this hemisphere and the stories and viewers deserve much better. I hope the management at CNN doesn't think giving him a long leash like this is the way to elevate his Qs. I can't imagine what his audience demographic is -Comedy Central already has the viewers that think news is a joke.

Tony Harris may be gone from CNN but now he's on Al Jazeera English, based in Doha, Qatar. How he got a job there I'll never know. He's on at 11am est. I was watching the live stream online and was shocked to see him on there. Just goes to show you being incompetent apparently doesn't hold you back in the news industry.
