Author (of “Walden” and “Civil Disobedience”) Henry David Thoreau was born on July 12, 1817 in Concord, Massachusetts. He said, “Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves." [Oh, my!]... Mr. Thoreau died on May 6, 1862 in Concord, Massachusetts.
