Philosopher and author (of “Candide” and the play “Mahomet”) Voltaire was born as François-Marie Arouet on November 21, 1694 in Paris, France. He said, “Anything too stupid to be said is sung." [He obviously was not a composer.]... Voltaire died on May 30, 1778 in Paris, France.
