Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff was born on April 1, 1873 in Semyonovo, Russia. He composed the Prelude in C sharp minor and the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Mr. Rachmaninoff died on March 28, 1943 in Beverly Hills, California.
