Christiaan Barnard died 8 years ago

Christiaan Neethling Barnard was born on November 8, 1922 in Beaufort West, Union of South Africa. He performed the first successful heart transplant. Mr. Barnard died on September 2, 2001 in Paphos, Cyprus.
