Singer and songwriter (of You Send Me) Sam Cooke was born as Samuel Cook on January 22, 1931 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Mr. Cooke died on December 11, 1964 in Los Angeles, California.

    Though his life only spanned 33 years, his contributions to the music world are still relevant today. Sam Cooke is truly missed by fans and family.
