Sisters- Lucille Mehochko of Orange City, FL and Lena Blane of Mason City and Mary Bender of Sanford, FL. Grandchildren- Adam (Bridget) Rebbe and Peggy (Kyle) Windisch. Great-Grandchildren – Hana, Lani, Cole. Several Nieces and Nephews Mr. Messersmith was born October 31, 1934 in Fancy Prairie, IL, the son of William Edward and Charlotte Long Messersmith. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Mr. Messersmith graduated from Athens High School in 1952 and later from Springfield Junior College in 1963. He was a member of the Athens Christian Church and was retired from Sangamo Construction when he retired to Sanford, FL. He had been residing back in Springfield for the past five years and was actively involved with the St. John’s Breadline. Mr. Messersmith loved the ocean." (Source)
