Carl Sandburg died 42 years ago
Carl Sandburg was born on January 6, 1878 in Galesburg, Illinois. He wrote the Rootabaga Stories. Mr. Sandburg died on July 22, 1967 in Flat Rock, North Carolina.

Carl Sandburg died today – 41 years ago
Author (of the Rootabaga Stories) Carl August Sandburg was born on January 6, 1878 in Galesburg, Illinois. He said, “Here is the difference between Dante, Milton, and me. They wrote about hell and never saw the place. I wrote about Chicago after looking the town over for years and years." [But what about the thermodynamics of hell and Chicago?]... Mr. Sandburg died on July 22, 1967 in Flat Rock, North Carolina.

Carl Sandburg died today – 40 years ago
U.S. writer Carl August Sandburg was born on January 6, 1878 in Galesburg, Illinois. [I boarded an Amtrak train there years ago, in case you're interested.] He said, “Sometime they'll give a war and nobody will come.” [Well, I won’t hold my breath.]... Mr. Sandburg died in 1967 in Flat Rock, North Carolina.
