Broadcast journalist (in the “CBS World News Roundup” and “This I Believe”) Edward R. Murrow was born as Egbert Roscoe Murrow on April 25, 1908 near Greensboro, in Guilford County, North Carolina. He said, “We cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home." [Still so true.]... Mr. Murrow died on April 27, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York.
