Otto Preminger died today – 22 years ago

Director (of “Laura” (1944), “The Man with the Golden Arm” (1955), and many other films) Otto Ludwig Preminger was born on December 5, 1906 in Czernowitz, Austria-Hungary. He said, “Directing her [Marilyn Monroe] was like directing Lassie. You need 14 takes to get each one of them right.” [Poor Lassie.]... Mr. Preminger died on April 23, 1986 in New York City, New York.
