Philosopher (think: “Discourse on the Method”) René Descartes was born on March 31, 1596 in La Haye en Touraine (now Descartes), Indre-et-Loire, France. He said, “I think; therefore I am." [Perhaps it should be changed to “I stink; therefore I am.”]... Mr. Descartes died on February 11, 1650 in Stockholm, Sweden.
