E.E. Cummings died today – 45 years ago

U.S. poet E.E. Cummings was born as Edward Estlin Cummings on October 14, 1894 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He said, “I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing than to teach ten thousand stars how not to dance." [Huh?]... Mr. Cummings died in 1962 North Conway, New Hampshire.

English Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell was born on April 25, 1599 in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England. He said, “Nature can do more than physicians." [Think about it.]... Mr. Cromwell died in 1658 in Whitehall, London, England.

U.S. football coach Vince Lombardi was born on June 11, 1913 in New York City, New York. He said, “A school without football is in danger of deteriorating into a medieval study hall." [You think he had a vested interest?]... Mr. Lombardi died in 1970 Washington, D.C.

U.S. film director Frank Capra was born on May 18, 1897 in Bisacquino, Sicily, Italy. He said, “Film is one of the three universal languages, the other two: mathematics and music." [Hmmm.]... Mr. Capra died in 1991 in La Quinta California.
