English writer Thomas Overbury was born on June 18, 1581 at Compton Scorpion, Warwickshire, England. He said, “The man who has nothing to boast of but his illustrious ancestry is like the potato - the best part under ground." [O-K!]... Mr. Overbury died in 1613 in London, England.
U.S. writer Robert Penn Warren was born on April 24, 1905 in Guthrie, Kentucky. He said, “I think the greatest curse of American society has been the idea of an easy millennialism—that some new drug, or the next election or the latest in social engineering will solve everything." [It takes work.]... Mr. Warren died in 1989 in Stratton, Vermont.
