U.S. writer Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. was born on August 29, 1809 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He said, “We are all omnibuses in which our ancestors ride, and every now and then one of them sticks his head out and embarrasses us." [Oh, my!.]... Mr. Holmes died in 1894 in Boston, Massachusetts.
