U.S. Confederate general (during the U.S. Un-Civil War) Robert E. Lee was born on January 19, 1807 at Stratford Hall, Virginia. He said, “The war... was an unnecessary condition of affairs, and might have been avoided if forebearance and wisdom had been practiced on both sides." [Think about it.]... Mr. Lee died in 1870 in Lexington, Virginia.
