U.S. abolitionist Sojourner Truth was born as Isabella Baumfree on November 18, 1797 in Swartekill, New York. She said, “If women want any rights more than they's got, why don't they just take them, and not be talking about it." [The trouble is, other people keep taking them away.]... Ms. Truth died in 1883 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
