Ginger Rogers was born as Virginia Katherine McMath on July 16, 1911 in Independence, Missouri. She danced with Fred Astaire to the song Smoke Gets in Your Eyes in the operetta Roberta. Ms. Rogers died on April 25, 1995 in Rancho Mirage, California.
