Johnny Mercer was born on November 18, 1909 as John Herndon Mercer in Savannah, Georgia. He wrote the lyrics to the songs Autumn Leaves, Moon River, and many, many more. Mr. Mercer died on June 25, 1976 in Hollywood, California.
