Nancy Killefer was chosen by Barack Obama - or someone - to be in charge of the new government position - just what they need - of "chief performance officer". Her goal was to eliminate government waste and improve efficiency. But CNN reported that today - or maybe as soon as she said, "Yes." - she perhaps realized that it would be an "impossible dream". So as a figurative gesture to eliminating waste, she withdrew from the offer.
P.S. Let's not forget about that other Nancy.
