Russian writer Maxim Gorky was born as Aleksei Maksimovich Peshkov on March 28, 1868 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russian Empire. He said, “When everything is easy, one quickly gets stupid.” {1} [Hmmmmm!]... Mr. Gorky died in 1936 in Moscow, USSR.

English writer Samuel Butler was born on December 4, 1875 near Bingham, Nottinghamshire, England. He is best known for his utopian satire “Erewhon.” He said, “It was very good of God to let [Thomas] Carlyle and Mrs. Carlyle marry one another and so make only two people miserable instead of four." {2} [Oh, my!]... Mr. Butler died in 1902.
