Sara Orne Jewett died today – 98 years ago

U.S. writer Sara Orne Jewett was born on September 3, 1849 in South Berwick, Maine. She said, “Yes'm, old friends is always best, 'less you can catch a new one that's fit to make an old one out of.” {1} [Bless ‘em all.]... Ms. Jewett died in 1909.

U.S. President (22th & 24th) Grover Cleveland was born on March 18, 1837 in Caldwell, New Jersey. He said, “In the scheme of our national government, the presidency is preeminently the people's office.” {1} [Then I’m moving in tomorrow.]... Mr. Cleveland died in 1908 in Princeton, New Jersey.

U.S. actor Jackie Gleason was born on February 26, 1916 in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York City, New York. He said, “The second day of a diet is always easier than the first.
