James Madison died today – 171 years ago

U.S. President (4th) James Madison was born on March 16, 1751 in Port Conway, Virginia. He said, “It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood." {1} [Amen! Amen!! Amen!!! Amen!!!! AMEN!!!!!]... Mr. Madison died in 1836 in Montpelier, Virginia.

U.S. astronomer Maria Mitchell was born on August 1, 1818 in Nantucket, Massachusetts. She said, “The eye that directs a needle in the delicate meshes of embroidery will equally well bisect a star with the spider web of the micrometer.” {2} [Way to go, ladies!]... Ms. Mitchell died in 1889 in Lynn, Massachusetts.

U.S. writer Rod Serling was born on December 25, 1924 in Syracuse, New York. He was famous for “The Twilight Zone.” He said, “There is nothing in the dark that isn't there when the lights are on.” {2} [Boo!]... Mr. Serling died in 1975 in Rochester, New York.
