The Discovery Channel has been accused of misrepresenting events on its series "Man vs. Wild". Reuters says, "British television network Channel 4 ... confirmed that host Bear Grylls had partaken of indoor accommodations on at least two occasions when his series had depicted him spending the night in the wild." There are even other allegations.
Now I've never been a fan of so-called "reality shows". I've always figured that there was a lot of scripting and contriving going on. After all, they know the camera's rolling. I'm just surprised that people would deliberately fake things and think they wouldn't be "discovered". Well, I guess one could do almost anything to compete for television time - just witness "American Idol" and the latest one, "America's Got Talent (But We Won't Find It)".
