U.S. bandleader Les Brown, Sr. was born on March 14, 1912 in Reinerton, Pennsylvania. Watch his “Band of Renown” play “Sentimental Journey” in Branson, Missouri here. He said (about Doris Day), “She was every bandleader's dream, a vocalist who had natural talent, a keen regard for the lyrics, and an attractive appearance." [Oh, yeah!]... Mr. Brown died in 2001 in Los Angeles, California. (Note: While IMDb.com says that he died on January 4, Wikipedia says that he died on January 24. In any case, let's remember him.)
