Ventriloquist and puppeteer (of Lamb Chop) Shari Lewis was born as Sonia Phyllis Hurwitz on January 17, 1933 in New York City, New York. She said, “Self esteem comes from doing something and accomplishing something.” [So, DO IT!]... Ms. Lewis died on August 2, 1998 in Los Angeles, California.
