Friedrich Hayek was born as Friedrich August von Hayek on May 8, 1899 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. He wrote the books The Road to Serfdom and The Fatal Conceit: The Errors of Socialism. Mr. Hayek died on March 23, 1992 in Freiburg, Germany.
