Yip Harburg was born as Edgar Yipsel Harburg on April 8, 1896 in New York City, New York. He was the lyricist for the songs Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?, April in Paris, and Over the Rainbow. Mr. Harburg died on March 4, 1981 in West Los Angeles, California.
