M.C. Escher was born as Maurits Cornelis Escher on June 17, 1898 in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. He created Metamorphosis I, Sky and Water I, Drawing Hands, House of Stairs, Ascending and Descending, Waterfall, and many more. Mr. Escher died on March 27, 1972 in Laren, the Netherlands.
