Maria Augusta von Trapp was born on January 26, 1905 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. She was the “leading lady” of the Trapp Family Singers. Her family’s story was featured in the musical The Sound of Music. Ms. von Trapp died on March 28, 1987 in Morrisville, Vermont.
