Irving Stone was born on July 14, 1903 as Irving Tennenbaum in San Francisco, California. He wrote the novels Lust for Life (about the painter Vincent van Gogh) and The Agony and the Ecstasy (about Michelangelo)... Mr. Stone died on August 26, 1989 in Los Angeles, California.
