U.S. singer and songwriter Buddy Holly was born as Charles Hardin Holley on September 7, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas.
He said, “If anyone asks you what kind of music you play, tell him 'pop.' Don't tell him 'rock'n'roll' or they won't even let you in the hotel." [It’s sure to be popular to someone.]... Mr. Holly died in an airplane crash on February 3, 1959 in Clear Lake, Iowa.
