Writer Jean Iris Murdoch was born on July 15, 1919 in Dublin, Ireland. She said, “I think being a woman is like being Irish. Everyone says you're important and nice, but you take second place all the same." [Perhaps it’s changed a little?]... Ms. Murdoch died on February 8, 1999 in Oxfordshire, England.
