Abolitionist and writer (e.g. “My Bondage and My Freedom”) Frederick Douglass was born on February 7, 1817 in Talbot County, Maryland. He said, “America is false to the past, false to the present, and solemnly binds herself to be false to the future." [Oh, my!]... Mr. Douglass died on February 20, 1895 in Washington, D.C.
