Creator (of Sherlock Holmes) and author (of The Hound of the Baskervilles) Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was born on May 22, 1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He said, “From a drop of water a logician could infer the possibility of an Atlantic or a Niagara without having seen or heard of one or the other." [But it helps.]... Mr. Doyle died on July 7, 1930 in Crowborough, Sussex, England.
