James McNeil Whistler died today – 105 years ago

Painter (of an “Arrangement in Gray and Black: Portrait of the Artist's Mother”, otherwise known as Whistler’s Mother) James Abbott McNeil Whistler was born on July 14, 1834 in Lowell, Massachusetts. He said, “You should not say it is not good. You should say you do not like it; and then, you know, you're perfectly safe." [Well, some stuff is just ridiculous, even if I don’t like it.]... Mr. Whistler died on July 17, 1903 in London, England.
