Painter (of “I and the Village” (1911) and other pieces) Marc Chagall was born as Moishe Shagal on July 7, 1887 in Liozna, Russian Empire (now in Belarus). He said, “All colors are the friends of their neighbors and the lovers of their opposites." [As are all musical notes.]... Mr. Chagall died on March 28, 1985 in Saint-Paul de Vence, France.
