He said, “I write to escape; to escape poverty." [That’s a very good reason.]... Mr. Burroughs died on March 19, 1950 in Encino, California.

For all the Tarzan and Edgar Rice Burroughs fans out there, there is an annual convention. This year it is being held July 24-27th in Waterloo, IA. The website is http://www.freewebs.com/dumdum2008.
