Poet (of “The Birds of Pompeii” (1985)) and translator (of Dante’s “Divine Comedy”) John Anthony Ciardi was born on June 24, 1916 in Little Italy, Boston, Massachusetts. He said, “Early to bed and early to rise probably indicates unskilled labor." [Ya' think?]... Mr. Ciardi died on March 30, 1986 in Edison, New Jersey.
