Political activist (for the “Equal Rights Amendment”) Bella Savitsky Abzug was born on July 24, 1920 in the Bronx, New York City, New York. She said, “I began wearing hats as a young lawyer because it helped me to establish my professional identity. Before that, whenever I was at a meeting, someone would ask me to get coffee." [Ya' gotta have a gimmick... or at least some identifying symbol.]... Ms. Abzug died on March 31, 1998 in New York City, New York.
