Author (of the poems “Leaves of Grass”) Walter Whitman was born on May 31, 1819 in West Hills, Town of Huntington, Long Island, New York. He said, “A morning-glory at my window satisfies me more than the metaphysics of books." [Yep!]... Mr. Whitman died on March 26, 1892 in Camden, New Jersey.
