Astronomer (discovering a comet) Maria Mitchell was born on August 1, 1818 in Nantucket, Massachusetts. She said, “I am always the better for open-air breathing, and was certainly meant for the wandering life of the Indian." [But it’d be kinda difficult carrying around that big telescope.]... Ms. Mitchell died on June 28, 1889 in Lynn, Massachusetts.
