Songwriter-lyricist (of Autumn Leaves, The Glow-Worm, Moon River, Days of Wine and Roses, and many more songs) John Herndon "Johnny" Mercer was born on November 18, 1909 in Savannah, Georgia. He said, “Once upon a time the world was sweeter than we knew. Everything was ours; how happy we were then, but then once upon a time never comes again." [Ah, yes... once upon a time.]... Mr. Mercer died on June 25, 1976 in Bel Air, California.
