Philosopher and author (of How to Read a Book and Aristotle for Everybody: Difficult Thought Made Easy) Mortimer Jerome Adler was born on December 28, 1902 in New York City, New York. He said, “In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but how many can get through to you." [So that’s why some people read so few.]... Mr. Adler died on June 28, 2001 in Palo Alto, California.
