Author (of Poor Richard's Almanack) and inventor (of the lightning rod, the glass harmonica, the Franklin stove, bifocal glasses, and... and... the urinary catheter) Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. He said, “Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days." [And sometimes much sooner.]... Mr. Franklin died on April 17, 1790 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
