Author (of “Robinson Crusoe” (1719), “Captain Singleton” (1720), “The Fortunes and Misfortunes of the Famous Moll Flanders” (1722), and “Roxana: The Fortunate Mistress” (1724)) Daniel DeFoe was born in 1659 or 1661 in London, England. He said, “It is better to have a lion at the head of an army of sheep, than a sheep at the head of an army of lions." [Hmmm!]... Mr. DeFoe died on April 24, 1731 in Ropemakers Alley, Moorfields, London, England.
