Economist and author (of “The Great Crash: 1929” – be sure to read Murray N. Rothbard’s “America’s Great Depression” – and “The New Industrial State” (1967)) John Kenneth Galbraith was born on October 15, 1908 in Iona Station, Ontario, Canada. He said, “It would be foolish to suggest that government is a good custodian of aesthetic goals. But, there is no alternative to the state." [What? Did he ever hear of a free market? Well, I’m sure that he did, but it didn’t give him what he wanted.] Mr. Galbraith was critiqued here by Murray N. Rothbard... Mr. Galbraith died on April 29, 2006 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
