Author (of “The Whole Family” (1908)) and lyricist (of "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee" (1907)) Henry van Dyke was born on November 10, 1852 in Germantown, Pennsylvania. He said, “Some people are so afraid to die that they never begin to live." [Yup.]... Mr. van Dyke died on April 10, 1933 in Princeton, New Jersey.
